About the Quantock Hills

The area of the Quantock Hills has been designated an area of outstanding natural beauty (AONB).  The area is peaceful and very green, with gorgeous panoramic views.

The surrounding farmland is quite lovely, with beautiful rich red soil and on the north side, there are views across the Bristol Channel towards Wales.

Nordic Walking on the Quantock Hills

Nordic walking is a great way to explore the Quantock Hills.  You will probably find that the poles make your walking so much more comfortable and easy than you are used to.

A few of the paths are quite rough with loose stones, and I recommend caution for beginners using these paths, just the same as if you were walking along them without any poles.  I suggest you use the rubber paws on your nordic walking poles for a secure grip and to reduce the noise on stony paths.

Introductory workshops will be held on the Quantock Hills according to demand – so please get in touch if you are interested - my number is 01398 341281.

Even farmers can enjoy an occasional afternoon away from the milking on the Quantocks
