Fiona loves nothing more than getting outdoors! Whether that's a spot of gardening, kayaking, along the South Coast, or walking on Dartmoor.

Fiona set up Nordic Walking Devon over 10 years ago and really enjoys working closely with individuals to help improve their health and fitness. Since then Fiona has expanded her skills and expertise and now teaches Pilates at various locations, including Powderham Castle.
See pilatesinexeter.co.uk for details.

Fiona also enjoys walking on Dartmoor and has since qualified as a Hill and Moorland Leader and particularly likes learning about the history and wildlife of the moor.

I hope you will be able to join us soon to learn the Nordic walking technique, enjoy Devon and meet a whole host of wonderful people. I'm enjoying it just as much as the day I started.

Rachel Dixon - BNW Leader.jpg

‘After 34 years in education, I wanted to combine my teaching skills with my love for the outdoors so trained as a Forest School Leader, with all the essential bushcraft skills of fire lighting, shelter building, camp cooking and wood whittling.

Since then, my journey has taken me to Devon allowing me to find new activities to enjoy and develop a passion for, including Seine boat rowing, cold water swimming and Nordic walking. Always in the pursuit of new skills, I have taken the opportunity to train as a Nordic walking leader and also an Indian Head Massage therapist, so you could say I can help you with your well-being from head to toe!

Alongside my physical activities, I enjoy being creative and usually have at least one project on the go. One of my favourite hobbies is willow weaving, making anything from small decorations to a life size deer.

Through these activities I have met many like-minded, lovely people and I look forward to meeting more for a walk, a swim or a weekend full of new experiences.’

TESTIMONIALS

"I hugely enjoyed the Nordic walking tuition with Fiona, she breaks down the technique into simple steps and made it fun along the way. I'm a great advocate for Nordic walking, it gives you a very different exercise experience by stimulating so many senses meaning that you hardly think of it as exercise at all!"  Hayley Peters, Director of Patient Care. NHS

"Fiona's expertise has added great value to the Universities Health and Wellness activities."  Paul Mouland - Sport and Wellness Development Officer, University of Exeter
